fasttruck9968, I'm from Dedham, MA. I think I might have a i/c leak also. What Ford dealer did you get your lightning? Got mine at Rodman and I'm going to have to get it fixed soon. Any advice before I go to the dealer.

Thumbs down

Guys,

Mine hasn't started leaking yet, so I can't post to the NHTSA. I know it's only a matter of time before it does if I don't do something to prevent it. So far, I've modified my pressure cap for 0 psi and am thinking of dumping and flushing the factory coolant and going with something else.

Has anyone seen one of these leaking I/C's up close and personal? What is going on with them? Rubbing holes into it, porosity problems, cracking, bad solder joints? What is it? I've never read a post that described in detail what is going on. This is a simple part - nothing more than a heater core. If mine had gone sour, I would have examined the old one so that maybe I could put the 'ol noggin to use so I wouldn't have yet another failure like many of you have.

Each time the dealer takes the engine apart, I GUARANTEE YOU that SOMETHING isn't reassembled or put back the way it should be. I don't want to have to screw with them if I don't have to. I'm a little pissed that every day there's a new post regarding the friggin' intercoolers either here or on NLOC. Clearly, there's a big problem. I'm just glad it's not fire related.
