Beat a long list of fast car, lost to 1..2 or 3 times.
Sorry guys, I posted this over at LS1.com, but you will be the first to see the vids, since most of my hits are from here. Well, here's a list atleast:
00 Red Camaro SS (got me from a roll though)
98 Trans Am, auto, shifting at 4k rpms
5.0 maverick, stock, fast for a stocker
LT1 Corvette
And I thought the racing scene was over up here...hey it was 38 degrees, and no snow! Bare roads! Like a cool summer night...
I am too tired to get into more detail, so get your reading glasses, this is a long one.
It was a warm and dry night, not your average mid-November night in Alaska, 38 degrees, and no snow in sight. A night to go racing. We didn't even contact eachother. Gregg 00 SS wasn't there to beat me, so the F-bodies were sent home in bags. I am talking ***** because MongoSSe couldn't wait to race me once his SS was out of the shop. I beat his dad, then I raced him, and went 1-for-3, 1 win. I lost my camera that night. Not tonight. Scott's dad must have put grease on his tires, 'cause he couldn't get off the line without a push. I raced him a couple of times, and that is truely the F-body weak spot. We went from a roll, and there is no question that he won those races. Need not worry, I'll post those, too.
Came across an LT1 Vette, he said he had seasonal tags and he's not supposed to be out so we told him to watch us race. Thinking ahead, we went to our usual spot, 3 lanes, and I knew he would decide to go. He took the bait. I'll be sure and post the videos when I can. Are LT1s really that slow? It seemed like a race between an LS1(me) and a new GT(him).
Met up with that 70 Chevelle SS, the 3 of us lined up, a coule of times, it was a blast. They almost got the tires off the ground. MongoSSe couldn't hang off the line, but he did catch up in one of the races. The Chevelle never did get me out of the hole, although he caught up and walked right on by. Wait for the vids.
Then it was a 98 T/A, a Maverick, with a 5.0, not sure what year, and I. The maverick pulled away from the T/A like the Chevelle does me, and I got up and ran away. We chatted, a bit, and it was then that I learned that the computer on the T/A was shifting at 4000 rpms! Something going on there, he's missing his sweet spot, right? He also had studded tires, but he was hooking up better than MongoSSe.
That last race, another fellow followed, and when we stopped at out chatting spot, he said a cop saw the whole thing-but turned off, and suggested we get out of there. Everyone jets, except me and the Chevelle--it wont start. The owner is working on it, 2 cops roll by, one approaches, then I see a video camera on top of the Chevelle (evidence), the other drives around back, and 2 more are on the main street nearby, lights on. I just head toward my truck and act like I don't know them and hope I dont get that lovely 10 point ticket. Just as I walk away, I hear him asking if they saw any fighting. Yes, fighting. My friend played dumb, and the cop rolled his eyes, they knew what was up, they just had squat on us. We got lucky.
Give me about 3-7 days to get the vids up.

cant wait to see the vidoe's they rock!!! Sounds like you had a blast last night (and also a fright). I got to go to the in-laws, & watch my team get beat up on by some Blue jackets (NHL Coyotes-vs-Blue Jackets). Very embarassing! Wish I could have gone out racing!! Hey I got stuck taking my wifes Pathfinder to the track the other night (I didnt have enough time to pick up the "L" from home & was meeting some people @ the track). Well it didnt perform too bad for a stock SUV, ran a few 16.1's @ 82mph with a 2.2 60'. The prevous weekend I was @ the track there was a Durango R/T there that was running 16.8's. My SUV would've cleaned his clock!!! I also beat up on a riced out crx (had stickes all over it, a roll cage, fire extinguisher etc..) he ran a 16.2-16.3 against my 2 16.1's. That was funny, my family truck heheh

16.1@82, not bad, aren't those supercharged? mopar hp/torque must be measured in 6"/lbs and shown as ft/lbs, they don't add up. Unless it has an aluminum block & 10 cylinders...
Can't wait to put them up, there was another camera there, in another car, so I might edit the movies and do like NASCAR and have an in-car, and another car view point. That might include some past races.
now if only I can get svtperformance.com to work...
