Forged cranks?

lookin for some forged cranks since i dont want to test the durability of the cast crank out of my stock 5.4L engine after 82k. i figure you guys have the better idea who makes quality forged cranks for the 5.4L to handle 500hp-700hp without breaking the budget too bad.

i hear scat and eagle are my best bets. but i cant find prices for the 5.4, just the 4.6

Regular 5.4 cranks are forged from 97 till 2000. Same part that comes in the Lightning (F7 part number).

Ah ok, your profile says 97. Your 02 definitely has a cast crank.

You can use a stock Lightning crank, they are available through Ford Racing for a couple hundred bucks.

yeah i thought you keyed into that. so i had to clarify that bit for ya, i have a 97 4.6 waiting to be dropped for a 02 5.4 with lightning goodies.

i talked to a ford rep and the forged crank ran around $660... your saying i went to the wrong place correct?

whats your opinion on the summit racing crank for $360

If you buy the crank from Ford over the parts counter, it's $660. If you get it from a Ford Racing dealer, it's like $375. It has a seperate Ford Racing part number. Stupid, yes.

I prefer the Ford crank over anything else. The only thing stronger is a custom billet crank, which will run you about $2500.

Klitch here is the Ford part number for the Forged Steel crank. Check around with Ford dealers for pricing. Can be had for less than $660.

ford racing part no: M-6303-M54
summit part no: FMSM6303M54
looks like the part numbers match partially.
