You could try 'baking' it at 250 for ten minutes to melt the glue holding the lens on...if it gets jacked you're not out anything as you'd have to buy a new one anyway. Do a search for guys who have opened and painted their tails...very similar process.

Lightbulb

That happened to me a few months ago. Bulb blew, left all sorts of crap in the housing.

I removed the foglamp assembly from the bumper, removed the remnants of the bulb, and used water and a few shakes to get any stubborn glass shards out.

After that, I let the assembly sit in warm soapy water, then used a long q-tip to dislodge any other crap. Rinsed it several times, then put it over an air vent overnight. Haven't had any problems since. (knock on wood)

I pondered the thought of using rubbing alcohol before re-assembly, but didn't. If the bulb dies quickly, I'll go the alcohol route and try again.

Hope that helps

good luck.

had this happen to me in the past, you will not get that foggy stuff out.

Basically whatever chemical is heat by the bulbs fuses with the lense of the foglight.

I took the lense off my fog light and cleaned the inside of it. Be careful not to crack it. It pops out of the outer ring. Use a small screwdriver and pry the edges untill it comes out. There is a silicone based gasket in there so you will need to replace. It was only like 1.35 for a new one.

250 deg for ten min.!!! what is he crazy? you'll have a puddle of plastic doing that. 4-5 min. at about 210-215deg is more like if you go that route.
TRUST ME i know first hand on that one.

I never had any luck cleaning mine. The exploding bulb marred the mirror finish on the one in my '04. I had to shell out for a new one, but did run a bead of clear silicone around the perimeter of the housing to prevent any more water from getting in.

I had some water in mine the last time it rained, all I did was stick a paper towel in there, moved it around in the fog light for a bit with a my finger and then pulled the paper towel out with some tweezers. That only works if you have water if there is other stuff, you will have to rinse it out and then dry it with the paper towel.

I always use a pair of hemostats and cotton ***** to clean mine. Also like said above, use a little silicone to help seal around the rubber o-ring of the bulb to keep water out.
