I wrote about some sean hyland stuff and others said it made their cars slower. whats good for a full exhaust, chip , mass air.

Ya know, there is a button called FAQ, it CAN help you with this stuff. Flame aside, in order of question, Full Exhaust has been found to show little to no gain in performance, however, sound quality has been increased (i.e. idle rumble, WOT growl, so on and so fourth). Exhaust systems tried have been, Flowmaster (said by many people to be nice at idle or cruising speed, but at WOT too loud for them), Ravin (said to increase idle and WOT sounds, idle sounds has little to medium increase in rubmble, and WOT is loud while passing by, but not so loud that you can't hear yourself think.) I know there has been, others put on, such as Borla (not sure about those), Bassanis (heard they were expensive P.O.S's), and some others I don't care to remember right not. That aside, no comes chip, oh boy, that's like opening a door to a whole new level. Some of the consistent top chip makers have been, Superchips (R9 program, heard to be really well), Johnny Lightnings Chip (heard to be really well, also made by Superchips, but designed by JL himself {correct me if I'm wrong}) Swansons chip (haven't heard anything about these), PSP (heard good things, but also heard that the wait is like having to go pee, and their being a line a mile long for the ONLY bathroom within miles from where you are.) And that's about that, for my knowledge. Personally, I'm kinda pulled between, the R9 program and JL's program. JL offers a good meal deal, which is Chip, MAF, and ram air, sounds pretty sweet to me. Ok, now to Mass Air, I have little to knowledge about. I hear people talking about Pro-M's and PSP's and JL's, and I know BaBolt is licensed to sale mass air units, and he's top notch about performance, so I guess you could contact him.

Well, my headache is back, and work for this damn comapny awaits me, so Hope I helped. If not, oh well, sorry.

My advise: leave the exhaust alone, buy a R9 or JL chip. Then buy a filer kit of your choice or a MAF/filter. I have only an Airaid/Superchip R9, and ran a 13.15 on my second pass with this combo. not bad for $425.00 in parts! Lloyd

FYI, Johnny Lightning does not use or sell a MAF. The air kit that goes w/ the ram air is an open-ended S&B conical filter with an adapter tube.

I wound up buying a Sean Hyland chip, Pulley and Pro-M mass air and I dropped a second and gained 7 mph on my truck. I am sure that there are better chips out there. I will find out next spring. But it is not a peice of crap. It works. I don't think I would go with their exhaust the stock seems to work just fine.
