Thumbs up New E.T.!!! JDM Engineering performs..... LONG

I know a few of you wanted to know how my truck was running, so instead of sending a few
e-mails, I decided to post here for all...

First off, I would like to Thank Jim D'Amore from JDM Engineering for spending a lot of his own time to help me with a winning combination this late in the season. We started off by Data Logging Last Saturday down in Freehold NJ where JDM Engineering is located.
Jim "burned" a program for the truck, so we decided to do some time shots at E-Town last Wednesday. The truck performed very well, running in the low 12.80's at FULL WEIGHT.
He new he had tons of room for improvement, so he decided to "burn" another chip for me. Only this time I forgot to bring my slicks to E-Town, they were 140 miles away in DE. But, Friday night still tunned out very well running on the F1's, JIM decided I Should run a "modified" R9 program that he created. The truck loved it, I was not launching to well on the stock rubber,
I was averaging 2.0 60's .....The truck was running in the 13.teens, to my amazement. It was great racing with JL and Rick on Friday night, glad you guys made it up.

So today we decided to try that "mild race program", and with great results. My first pass out we ran a 12.76 @ 106.99, my second pass netted a 12.68 @ 107.80, my third and final pass was a Blistering 12.61 @ 107.49. The weather conditions were not that bad, but could have been better (CECIL COUNTY), the temp was 50, Humidity was 50, the B.P. was around 30.15 all day, but we were all Struggling the 30-35 m.p.h. cross winds that was causing almost everyone to "skate"
down the track, but "keeping it between the lines" right JL? LOL The day was a special event,it was the "IMPORT -vs- DETROIT" showdown, I could have continued since I did advance,
but decided I should start the long ride back home.

Jim D'Amore plans to test some more with my truck on Wednesday night, All I could say is,
I cant wait to test his race program....Too bad the W.F.C. is so many months away I'm looking
forward to it. I plan to be running in the Low, very Low 12's...but no where near HIGHRISK.

As for Jim's truck, It ran in the low 12.50's all day long....ON A STREET PROGRAM WOW!!!
running at 4900 l.b.s. His truck would have to be seen in person, its Sweet The truck has run 12.38 in better weather conditions...now thats's hauling A S S !!!!
He plans to have a "race Program" for both trucks to test out on Wednesday night's Test & Tune. I can't wait.... I know back home at Cecil I have a 12.40 with this program, wonder what I'll have with a "track" program......

By the way, all runs were made on pump fuel

That Awesome Spiro!! All these trucks act different to mods then the other. Jim D is a master at finding out what works. We should have a blast with the Cobras and gt's saturday. We all should be in the 50's by then. I'll even bring da heat scanner for you to play with. lol

BlackSVTTruck,
Thanks I could not believe the performance my truck had on Sunday. The W.F.C. will be a blast, especially the NothEast cruise out there... Yea, too many in the mid 12's, I think I'm shooting for the mid 11's LOL j/k

Zorprime,
If you would like to contact JDM Engineering, just drop me an E-mail(loacted in Sig.) Where in the East are you located?

tortis,
Not sure if chips will be available, JDM likes the "hands on tuning". My 60's were all in the 1.81-1.82 range.

BadBolt,
You now have mail

Rick, where were ya' those imports had no chance, but there were some running in the Low to Mid 8's. I cant wait for the closed session at Cecil this weekend, weather looks great, I just hope we have some of that great Cecil Air (b.p. 32.13)...one could hope. By the way, love that heat scanner

Daniel,
I should be in town all day, arriving at the track around 5 p.m. You going to make the trip there? Now would be a good time to make a pass with your L....You'll love it, trust me

Nathan,
As of yet I have not installed any NO2, I have been thinking about it for some time now. Who knows, I'm sure I will, or not

Reality1,
Jim, how are ya? Wish you were there, we had a good time. See ya' in the spring

Autothrottle,
You could email me at Spiro99SVT@aol.com .

Question

Thanks for the reply Spiro,

I have a question for you and anyone else
who would like to respond. I was thinking of
taking the heads off my lightning and doing a quality 3 angle-valve job and light bowl work. My reasoning behind this is this.
I have done this on corvettes, mustangs and
Grande nationals. It has always been worth at least 2 mph and I have done it on almost
a dozen vehicles. I dont port the heads, just make the stock measurements cleaner and more efficient. It almost always results in more torque and always results in a little nore horsepower. As we all know if you make 4 changes that result in a little they all add up to much more. If I did this is do you think that Jim D'amore would work with me on a chip? I live about 8 miles to the North of Boston.
I am going to run JL's ram air and filter and a level 10 shift kit. I am also going to
run an electric fan and 2 small fans on the
intercooler. No exhaust mods though. I like it quiet and smog legal. I have a set of
Hoosier 26 by 9 by 16 street slicks ready to go. The truck ways about 4630 with me in it.
Also I plan to use the 2001 intercooler when available (if it is indeed larger) and possibly the 2001 intake when these are available.

Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
