good post

take all the finger pointing out of it and this is a good thread really.

How many of us, including myself, had ideas. I was thinking the cylinder wall cracked, but no one pointed out intercooler.

Sometimes I guess we forget about the water-air intercooler on our trucks.

I can remember back in like 01 this happened to a guy because of the intercooler failure. I tried but couldnt' find the post.

It was WAY BACK in the day of Spiro, the pink bulldog, and 12 second lightnings with 2lb pulleys being EXTREME!!!

Now look here JUNIOR!!! Don't go mouthing off about chit you know nothing about. This is exactly the kind of crap we're trying to avoid in this thread. Many here know what a stand up guy Rob is, and I would have baught big red myself if I had the ability to. Nobody cares if your daddy is a TOP attorney around here. We're here to learn about L's and the vehicles that they compete with. If you don't have something CONSTRUCTIVE to say, then step away from the keyboard.

Rant off.

If you keep running your mouth without knowing what the hell you're talking about sonny, I got a feeling that you will be seeing a lot of dear old dad.

I've never heard Rob's integrity questioned. Sanity, for sure, but not integrity.

So FOAD newbie.

Gee guys

Iam running my mouth huh? Iam only asking questions that, Iam sure, alot would like to ask.
Questioning his integrity? Hardly! Questioning the soundness of the truck he sold, why yes Iam. I don't know either the seller or buyer, but want to learn something here

SONNY, JUNIOR..........LOL
I only hope I can grow up to be as great as you guys. I asked the question about the intercooler antifreeze mix, and got no answers from the experts. Sure seems something is strangely wrong here, many trucks in cold weather climates here with no problems. Was the intercooler a defective unit or was the H20 frozen because of a poor mixture? The seller installed the KB and claimed his wrenching skills are as good as anybodies, but a major problem happened. Then I ask if the intercooler was filled with the correct mix, and his buddies come out of the woodwork.

Then Marty man says he would have bought the truck knowing it was beat on and has blown the motor.........ssssssheeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz. Maybe you should join me in college. Your reasoning skills could use a brushing up.
You say the seller is such a stand up guy, but wasn't it was Donsbolt that offered to help with the replacement motor. Didn't see the seller offer anything, but maybe he offered in talks, don't know.
But I'll offer to throw $50 toward to help ChiTown,

Hows that for CONSTRUCTIVE?

Thanks Tim, Mart Man, and everyone else who really know me. It's not easy when you have to listen to a bunch of (I have no ****** idea what I'm talking bout) discuss how bad I am. Maybe because I dont hold back and always say whats on my mind, or maybe just because I actually tell everything, I dont know but for whatever the reason there are always people that seem to have better story's about me than I have about me

Ok are we listening PA because this is not an easy install to remember.
How to Swap your supercharger
Remove 4 Bolts on left side, remove 4 bolts on right side, install KB, All Done...
YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE INTERCOOLER OR ANY CONNECTIONS TO OR FROM IT, NOR DO YOU LOOSE ANTIFREEZE

Gregg re the old post dont sweat it they rag on me all the time I'm use to it. I think what bothered me most was seeing everyones attitudes change and all the finger pointing. When me and you spoke on the phone when this happen theres not a doubt in my mind you KNEW I was upfront about everything and there was nothing I was hiding. But as the post went on it was easy to see you didnt want to hear alot of the possibilities me and others were throwing out (ok we can forget bout the windchill theory ; o )
Of course your pissed, schitt I'd be pissed off too, yet there I was looking to come up with an answer because my take is, what the fk happen to my baby he blew up Big Red, he cant be telling the whole story (@$@(&$%@($%(@$

So lets all start over,
Bro this sucks monkey *** please do let us know what happen...

Since the discussion is now of the intercooler and antifreeze all I can add is
I've never tested the Antifreeze for a specific temp of freeze protection but I believe it to be 100% antifreeze. For what it's worth here's one of the last engine pic's I took of it.

I've read both thread's,and i never thought for 1 second Rob knew something was wrong with the Lightning when he sold it.I've been around here for quite sometime now,and Rob is a Character for sure. But he's also a stand up Guy in my book, and i wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from him.

Rob,

Not that I'm ******* on you but 100% antifreeze has far less heat carrying capacity than water...it's a bad idea to do that. At most it should have been 50/50 or even 75/25 (water to AF) in warmer climates.

And based upon what I know about you I'd definitely buy herb from you!!!

Maybe I should have just said I HAVE NEVER TOUCHED THE ANTIFREEZE AND TRUST SAL 101% because thats the truth

And Oh Ya

OK GUYS IT'S OFFICIALLY OVER
I hope Gregg will pop in and explain it but it WAS NOT the intercooler..... nor was it mis-use, nor was it anything anyone had control over.
Turned out to be a pin hole leak at a seam, I'll let Gregg explain more...
