You can tell us:

Was/is your intercooler bottle empty?

Was the lower intake full of intercooler fluid?

Has the intercooler system or just the intercooler (IC) been pressure tested?

Are there visible holes in the IC?

Intake vacuum will draw fluid out of a leaky IC system, but only when the truck is running. The intercooler itself doesn't hold much fluid. Fluid would have to come from other parts of the system, bottle, hoses... to fill the lower intake.

I dunno? I only drove it like 4 days.... then BOOM.. I was told it was all good when I picked it up.

It could be just coincidental (sp?) that it cracked when it did.

Then you would figure that after the truck was shut off the temp probably rose a tad in the IC. How much? Probably not a substantial amount. However maybe enough to crack it or finally weaken the crack enough to leak. Or it could have had a small leak that just got worse to the point that it did. Does the IC pump cycle with the ignition?...I would assume so.

As far as the bent rods... who knows I mean they could be just out of square or whatever. Not perfect. There probably not bent 90 degrees or to some extreme. Only the mechanic knows that right now. The starter might have enough torque to cause the damage. The tire guy probably went out there and tried to start it maybe got a couple revolutions out of it and created some turbulence in the intake to get some water in those cyls. We all know water doesn't compress and bam...your result.

I'd pump that IC full of air and spray her down with some soap.

Just my .02 Whatever the case....good luck. Sounds like your on the right track.

Did your mechanic find a puddle of fluid in the lower intake?

I wish I had an answer for you.. I called him just the once to get a low-down on what happened. I told him I will wait for his call regarding the final autopsy results and my options with the motor..
