i found a 04 lightning with 40000 miles on it, and hes giving me a great deal for it. but the check egine light is on and that is kinda not making me not want to buy it. do you think theres something really wrong with it or some thing small? it was amazing when i test drove it though. what should i do?

L check engine

If he wants to sell it, he'll get the check engine light problem diagnosed. Auto Zone does it for free, or take it to Ford and find out what the problem is. Either way, I woudn't buy it till that issue was addressed.

Find out what the code is. Could be simple or it could be expensive. Why is he selling it, because of he CEL?

I'd say the check engine light is on from that intake. I bet thw owner never unplugged his battery and reset the electrical connections which causes the cel to come on always efter adjusting maf location and that one looks built in so who knows? Have that cel diagnosed asap...

Stock tires on a lightning are 295/45/18s. Those tires on there are a little tall.

The truck probably needed new tires and they put on some cheaper ones. Good stock tires will run 200.00+ apiece.
