Talking New subject - never been discussed, I think

We may have discussed a LONG time ago but here goes again. Has anyone seen or bought a center console that goes in the carpeted void on the floor between driver and pass. foot wells?

I am looking for a OEM look here. Maybe black or grey molded plastic, doesn't have to be very big. Hold 10 or so CD's and maybe a spot for trash or papers or whatever. Mainly want something that can be fastened to the floor in case I get sudden urge to go handling. The CD case I use now just goes flying if I take a hard corner.

Thanks all,

Collin

I think I remember 1 person doing such a thing. I think they got a console from an expedition or superduty or something. But I think they put it in a supercab, not a Lightning.

The console from an Expedition will not work without the captain's chairs. I do not know of anything from Ford that will work. You could call around to conversion shops (I got my console from LWM in Oklahoma: 1-800-259-5842) to see if there is something that they have. Here is the console in my truck.

If you can get the seat cover/padding from Ford for the drivers seat. Maybe it will go on the right captains chair of an Expedition. Then you could install the console and still have the fold down armrest. I think that would look good, kinda like Gen 1's did in 94 & 95.

The cost of the seat cover from Ford is about $260.00. I've got the part # somewhere.

Question: Do out seats have extra bolstering as compared to an Expedition seat?

Question

Well, to change the subject slightly, anyone put Recaros in their L?

When Ford takes their yellow '01L to the SVT events, they did put Recaros in it. Very impressive; even had the Lightning logo embroidered into the headrests; and they installed a center console to fill the gap.....Unfortunately, did not have the opportunity to quiz anyone there whether part was OEM (console).

Cool

Besides the sh eye tty plastic dash board the only other thing I hate about my L is the fact we don't have bucket seats. Since I hear these seats wear out quickly I know I'm getting buckets and a centre console soon as the seats wear out.
Recaros...yup.

Crutchfield makes a console that fills the void that matches the interior(supposedly). It also holds a 10" subwoofer and is a cupholder. I don't know if it has any other compartments... it's probably not what you're lookin for, but it's just a thought.
