trans upgrade questions

I am at a point where i feel its worth the monry to do some trans work. I am talking rebuild/replace it. I want a builtproof trans. I can do a local rebuild with a reputable guy that does ford deisel 4r100 stuff. i talked to him about the rebuild and he said it would be no problem if i had the parts.

so what do i want? I am out of the loop on trans stuff. I dont plan on 700rwhp, 500-550 will be my final goal with 600-650rwtq. so with that, what should i be buying to keep it alive. I already have the 4x4 pan and a ftvb. whats next?

Chris

Not quite half the price considering the Level 10 trans does not include a $1000 converter like the BTS does. Still less expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for. Trust me on this........ BTS is expensive for a reason. I'd put my 4 year old BTS up against anything Level 10 could muster up on a tranny dyno and guarantee it would outlast it.

If you are a built motor and wanting to run 600+hp, I would go with a built 4r70w. These trannies are not a high reving one. These are towing transmissions not racing trans. Just something to think about.

i just want to support a decent amount of power without knowing that 2nd gear will eventually fail. Heck, where i am right now its not a question of if it will go, but when (and with my boost numbers, same with the stock bottom end).

I am prepaired to spend the cash, but I am not planning on going all out with 700+hp. i just need a trans i can abuse on the street and run on the track and feel good about it. Where I am now is starting to make me nervous.
