Question Tundra - Clunk Help

With the help of some guys on the board I
got under & checked the lower control arm
bolts. Drivers side has been moving at least
a 1/2 inch each way, bummer. So - need to arrange a repair. Who have you been going to and how's the service? Guess I'll see what luck I have having them get necessary parts ahead of time (am I dreaming).

Do you know what harm (besides tire wear) driving with the clunk can do. Sounds like it could be awhile before this gets done from what I've read here.

Hey, I have been taking my truck to dealers pretty much all over the western part of the country. Keep an eye on that tire, I haven't noticed any tread loss, but some have. The rear two are going bald though...

I have had the clunk and took it to a dealer, and its sounds bad, but I can live with it. I think Cal Worthington is ok, but I know they would treat you a lot better than they do me. I took my truck to Stepp Brothers, and they didn't put in a new airfilter as part of the 20k mile tune-up, so I won't be going back there.

It hasn't snowed yet, and I have a small list of things I think should be warranteed. My snow tires are still in Vegas (long story), so I am going to take it to Cal for the following problems:

1)Intercooler leak
2)Clunk
3)Cruise Control instrument light is out.
4)tonneau cover has small cracks
5)Window clunks when rolling down.
6)25k mile tuneup

By the time they get it all straightened out, I should have my snow tires up here. That way, they should keep it indoors, and work on it until its done, not put in the yard and forgotten about.

Do dealers do free rentals for warranty work?

Tundra-

Wow, you got quite a list of fixes. I'll probably go to Cal too. As far as loaners, if you have an appointment and have asked for
one, they do give them out (or at least used to cause we had one) but I don't know for how long.

Got my wheels & tires from muffler city, but
haven't put them on, no snow on the roads here yet.

See ya at Cals

My 99 Expy didn't have the speed control light but my 2000 does. I can't imagine they are that different--Bob

If thats what I remember. It is yellow, and sits inbetween the speedo and tach right tin the center, you can't miss it if its on, and if you look closely, you might be able to see it without the light on. Our clusters are good at hiding the lights when not in use.

It has got to be one of the cheapest parts, yet most labor intensive things to replace.
