tax refund / new mods

well got my taxes done today and it is time for some new mods. payed some bills off and now it is time to call LFP. Going to order some hotchkis sway bars and a rc steering stabilizer kit.

must say i am very tempted to order a cervini 3" cowl hood though.

I would get the Hellwig bars instead. MUCH stiffer.

would they hellwig sways combined with my ruslow 1200 coils make the front suspension to stiff? one of the guys on svtperformance has that combo and said he was going to switch over to the hotchkis sways because of understeer.

You have to look at both axles. "Too stiff" on the front can't really be answered without also looking at what bar you are putting on the rear.

% stiffer than stock (my calcs based on published data):

Front Hotchkis 82%
Front Hellwig 105%

Rear Hotchkis 26%
Rear Hellwig 144%

If you have a push, then the Hellwig rear is better for sure. Hotchkis front and rear will likely increase the push further, since by my reckoning you would be stiffening the front more than the rear.

Since you can't buy a front Hotchkis separately, then I would go with Hellwig front and rear.

I would also seriously think about softening the front springs. With Ruslow 1,100s up front, even with old-spec Hotchkis leafs and 30 lbs in my airbags, I still have a slight push. There is a ton of understeer built into these things. Stiffer front springs just makes it worse. A softer front spring will take some of the push out.

[At the risk of running afoul of the board rules, I will be putting my Hotchkis front bar and a Hellwig rear bar up for sale in the next week or two].
