I raced a Lightning today
I looked in my rear view mirror as i was driving down Gratiot Ave, and but to see a gold grill, thats right, this lightning had a gold grill, top and bottom grill both gold, i slowed for it and it had 20" gold spokes on it, i couldnt believe it, some black guy was driving it, we were next to each other at about 30mph and we both punched it expecting it to give me a good spanking, it just very slowly pulled on my, the guy was flying in and out of lanes trying to get away from me till he got on the expressway and i turned around and carried on with my business, point of story, lightning looks ghetto with 20' spokes, dont do it
bet he didn't have a chipenfilter. I take it you were the recipient of an R/T's favorite snack, the illustrious and misunderstood 1-2 WOT fart shift, or were you on the left side (i doubt). So, how'd it taste?
Hey SY199R/T, I think I'm in your neck of the woods. Let me know when and where. Just for fun, of course.

Assumption 1: It's hard to believe that us "black guys" drive and love Lightnings also?
Assumption 2: If it had 20" wheels, gold grille and "some white guy" driving it would it be considered "ghetto" or maybe "yuppie" or something?
Assumption 3: In all the other posts to this list (that I enjoy reading) I can now assume that if the driver wasn't quoted as being "some black guy" then it must have always been "some white guy"?
I love my Lightning (with the stock wheels chromed) and can't stand "profiling" or sterotyping!

The 1-2 upshift...
Mark, I know there aren't many sports cars in Valdez (1/2 size of Seward, and Seward isn't too big), but incase there are, don't get caught with your pants down and race from 20-25 or anywhere from 20-45 as that is where the stock pcm doesn't shift back into 1st. That is the inevitable 1-2 upshift that we all detest.
I have been there(caught between 20-45), and I wont race unless it is from a standstill or from 45-65 mph, as 65 is near the cut-off for the 2nd gear downshift.
PS. How are those snow tires, I know it snowed there, and check out my site and see what your truck can do...Link's in my sig, not sure if you knew that...Also getting to meet a lot of sports car enthusiasts and might make a car club, but thats another story.
I should be racing tomorrow night...If it doesn't snow...

Hey SY1999RT, risky business running on gratiot. Roseville Police are all over the place. I'd be interested in a couple runs with you. We should have a little gatering seeing a lot of us are in the same neck of the woods.
Hey Mean_Azz,
How much did you pay to have your stock rims chromed? I'll be getting a 2001 and will either buy new rims or get the old ones chromed. Unlike a lot of people I personally like the 2001 rims and if chromed I think they would look even more wicked. Thanks,
Adam

I was referring to the 1st to 2nd shift at WOT from a stand still. not someothing that can be avoided unless you chip you truck as it is part of stock programming.
