Oil problem

First off I do not have seperators, never really needed them since I never see this much oil until now. I was bored the other day and went out to clean the air filter to find oil all under it, in the MAF, boot, and TB. Why so much, and has anyone else experienced this much before? I posted on TALON but I want a couple more opinions on it. I was told possibly cracked ring or piston. Thanks in advance. -Kyle

Try putting in 6 qts. at the next oil change. Make sure you check the dipstick level. Mine reads about half-way to the max fill line using 6 and it seems to cut down on the oil in the intake. I change every 3k miles and haven't used a drop between changes since new, now 113k miles.

I did an oil change 3 days ago. I used 6 quarts and it's between both lines but still doing it, even after I cleaned it all out (air filter, MAF, elbow ect.). I do not really notice an oil loss when I change it either.

I think the best thing to do would be to clean it again and dissconnect the PCV system and use breathers on both sides. Cap the 2 inlets off and after it is totally clean without a trace of oil....drive it for a couple of days. If the oil is gone then you found the problem. If the oil is still there you then you know that its not all coming from the PCV system. The right side has to be capped so that the oil does not re-enter from the lower intake hose. If you block off the back of the upper intake and the driver side under the intake boot I would be willing to bet that the problem will go away.

The truck would be puffing blue smoke if it was a ring or something...does it smoke when you drive it?

Try cleaning it and deleting the PCV from the intake at each point and see what happens.......

No smoke that I notice. I am almost positive it is from the PCV since my lines are covers in oil on the inside. I'll try what you said though and see what happens. I just cleaned the intercooler a few months ago and didn't look too bad but I don't want it getting clogged with oil later.

Anyone know how the oil would be going in my air filter? It couldn't be doing it at WOT you would think b/c it's sucking. After 1 weeke it looks almost as bad as the pics I posted. Seems to me something more than the regular prob most of us have.
