Question Locking Lug Nut Availability

Has anyone found a supplier of locking lug nuts (14mm) yet? I've placed an order at my local Ford dealer but received no response.

Ordered mine in May. I call the dealer once a month just to check in. I still don't think they'll be out any time soon but I also hope I'm wrong .

I have used the Gorilla Locks for years. Its funny you guys bring this up. I park here under a carport, concerned about theft on my new SVT Chrome Wheels. Discount Tires has them. They charge normally a high price 60-80 bucks. All the lugs are locks with a special key. I have always used these due to the fact that one lock can throw off wheel balance at high speed. I am surfing the net now looking for a good price..will call Summit Racing! lata..jw

whitelightnin', you must have a '99, Gorilla does not make a set for the 14mm studs on the '00 L's. I ordered my McGard locks, available only from Ford, back in April, and they are still on back-order. This is beginning to pi$$ me off.

Although there's a part number in Fords system, they simply don't exist. It's a SCAM to use your money in the stock market. I waited two months and got my money back.

Question

alphadoggy...when I had the Ford SVT Chrome Wheels (Tire Rack) installed at Discount Tire I thought they were 14 MM. The Ford SVT box had a orange sticker on every one of them warning against the incorrect size lug. Although from what I remember, the 2000 is supposed to have 14MM? NOT...because Discount told me they were 12MM?..something is very strange with this...jw

having trouble with your syntax, wl. one of us has to cut back on the G&Ts. I still don't know whether you have a '99 or an '00. The '99s have 12mm studs, the 00's have 14mm. i got a set of Gorillas from discount tire, only to discover that that they did not fit my '00 (My studs are too big ) I would much rather have the Gorillas, not only because I think they are a better product, but also because you can get sets of 20. Not only is the price Ford wants for a set of 4 McGards unconscionable, I can just imagine finding the wheels on my L. dangling from 4 studs. I think I will go by my dealer tomorrow and get my money back. I sure wish Gorilla made a set for the 2Ks, but I guess they didn't sell enough for the 99s so it doesn't look like they are going to.

Just received a reply from McGard regarding wheel locks:

The correct Ford part number for this set is YL3Z 1A043BA. It will be
available shortly. The dealer can place an order, and when available, it
would be shipped.

Hope this helps everyone. Just spoke with Kay of Gorilla Automotive and they will make sets of locks for the 2000L. They are 14mm x 2 and a set of 20 will cost $59.95 + shipping. Part# for the set of 20 is 76603N.
Her phone number is 800 262 6267 or
323 585-2852. Just ordered mine this morning. The catalog on the web site www.gorilla-auto.com does not show the part number even though they are avail.

I ordered the 14mm gorilla locks from Discount Tire about three weeks ago. When they arrived, they were plain open-ended nuts. Not only would they have been ugly, but would have thrown off the wheel balance because of the enormous weight difference. I refused them and got my money back.
(that was for a set of 4, not a full 20 set)
