as anyone painted their stock 99-00 grilles? i was going to do a harley grille on my silver L. but i am thinking hard about powder coating my 03 rims black. i think my stock 00 grille would look good painted black to match the wheels.

It takes a lot longer to tape it off and it's a little bitchy getting something behind the grills (so you dont paint the radiators/heat exchanger/cooler)
BUT it comes out awesome, I used that Fussion Paint thats made specially for plastic

I painted my stock 99 grilles black OEM but i totalled the truck a couple weeks later in teh rain on some damned toyo's going just 35mph. I don't think I got any pics, but color matching the grilles really looked good.

Painted my grills black with SEM Landau black. Its made for plastics. I have used it on all my plastic trim, except for the mirrors. It looks alot better all black, than some gray and black.

Cool

HI!... Not to ask a stupid question, but why in the hell would you paint those grills on the truck???? It takes like 10 minutes to get those grills off. It would of takin you longer to tape everything up, then it would to remove them and paint them properly. JMO.

Check my gallery. I pulled mine off and have my bud professionally shoot them. Properly primed for plastic, and several coats of matching paint code black. Came out mint!!!!!
