Post Serial Kill...two for one

Coming home from work last night on the expressway and cruising around 65 in a 55 zone. In the rear view, I see a early 90's LX 5.0 mustang with a aftermarket wing and a VTEC Honda Civic with all kinds of add on body parts and stickers.

The VTEC was right on the mustang's behind and they were moving at a good clip coming up in the right lane. I started speeding up a little bit so that I matched the lead car's speed.

I bumped the gas a couple times, and the mustang went for it from about 70. At first he pulled with me, but I quickly started pulling away from him until about 110 and upcoming traffic. He slowed down for traffic in his lane, I slowed down for safety, and the civic shot around him on my bumper.

We clear traffic and the civic wanted to go, so I let him pull alongside and start to go before I quickly reeled him in and walked away. I slowed down again after a couple lengths and then he wouldn't get next to me again (nor would the stang, although he waved as I exited).

Caught my exit and off to the house in time for dinner. I don't think either of them knew what I was up to with the Lightning...just lambs to the slaughter.

Great Kills!!

Ever try downshifting the Lightning in to 2nd gear at 70 mph? Whooaaaahhh!
The truck wont drop to 2nd automatically you have to do it manually. At 70 mph. and a downshift into second gear with the pedal mashed I don't think there is anything that will hold with the L.

Fordplay, Truckin' magazine says the Mercedes SUV (ML55?) will do 60 to 100 MPH in under 3 seconds. I think that might be faster than a stock Lightning. However, according to the test they ran, the Mercedes was not as quick as the Lightning in the quarter mile. Of course, the Mercedes MSRP is around $65K and up.
