Custom tune

If you have a custom tune sent to you by a repudable source,(mine will be form rpmoutlet) do you think it is still necessary to have your truck dyno tuned or to hook it up to an air/fuel meter? Also what are you guys running for air/fuel raito? Most that I have read said about 12.8:1, but I've heard you should be down around 12.2:1 with a supercharged engine. Thanks for the input.

It doesn't hurt to check that the tune is actually suitable for YOUR truck as each can have variations.
Maybe your fuel pump isn't quite performing right or your O2 sensors are a bit off.
Also, I don't know where you read about that 12.8-1 A/F ratio but it shouldn't be on a Lightning site.
You want to be around 11.8-1 maximum if not lower depending on ambient conditions.

At least have the tune check out at a local dyno shop. The A/F on the L's once modded should not be above 11.8:1 unless you like replacing motors.

My mistake, I must have gotten the numbers mixed up. Weren't the 99-00s like around 10:1 and the 01s and higher at 12:1?

Ya some L's are richer and some leaner but I never heard it being a full 2 ???
