Post A/Z Plan L's

Hello I went to a dealer yesterday to inquire about A/Z planning a L. My father worked in the livonia transmission and the dearborn plants for 35 years. What do I find out when I get there? "Sorry we are not honoring A/Z plan on L's" is this how Ford repays my father for 35 years of work? Im a bit disgusted right now that they choose to turn their backs on long time employees for the buck.

Dealers aren't required to honor A/Z plan on anything, it's just good PR. Most will if you order the vehicle though(I know, difficult with the "L"). In fact 2 dealers around here in a Ford town(Norfolk truck plant is here) turned me down(my father-in-law is retired from Woodhaven Stamping). When one came in and sat at one of the dealers for a couple weeks they wanted to jump through hoops to sell it to me "Z" plan. Screw them, I told them I wanted an above average trade-in amount for my '98 4X4 because I didn't want to deal with them and I had already reserved the first one to come in at another dealer. It'll be a cold day in some mythological hot place before they ever sell me one.

Question

Just out of curiosity what is an A/Z plan? I don't need a long explanation-just curious.

AUTOMAN: It's for current hourly("A" plan) and retired hourly("Z" plan) Ford workers and their immediate family members. It equals 3% below dealer cost which on a Lightning is $26k and some change out the door. Also don't have to pay that $2-300 paperwork fee(forget the exact name it's called).

Say Jackal don't think it is just Ford, a friend of mine just purchased a C5 convertible and couldn't buy on plan and he is a manager at the S-10 plant here in S'port. That car has been out since 97, if he was after a Z06 it would make more sense.

4D - It's not just for hourly employees. Its also for salaried. I am salried and got A-plan on the L.

Jackal - The dealer doesnt loose money at all. They still make money. Ford pays them money directly as an incentive for the dealers to accept A plan. The profit margin is not as high as if they were to sell it at regular price...but don't worry....they are still making the dough.
