I know several people who work at "SVT dealerships". I don't take much stock in that quite frankly, but whatever...

I'll go read the article. Thanks for sending the link. I'll be interested in pricing. I'd expect no less than $45k. Is there a market for this vehicle? Not really, if you have to sell 3-4k of them a year.

Just read the article...there's less meat in there than in the Motor Trend a few months back where they actually tested the prototype!

When I read words like "reportedly testing" and "no firm timetable"...I don't get my hopes up too high.

I'm not saying they won't produce it. However, it is COMPLETELY erroneous to say that they definitely ARE going through with it. My bet is that if L sales keep declining (and they did this year), then this SUV version will get axed shortly.

I sent a link to the pictures of the 2001 Lightning that Steven took to the "SVT" person at the dealer I got my truck from. All he saw till then was a drawing. So you should take what dad's friend says with a grain of rock salt.

Cool

If they build it, I will have one. Period.

What I want to know is why they can't build a car to park next to my L.

If Saleen can pull the S7 together, where the hell are the Ford engineers?????????

How about bone stock reissue GT40s for us old timers?

Ya know, If you're talking about cars that cost that kind of money, as well as that kind of performance, Ford does build something to compete, the Aston Martin. And the good news is, all you need is the cash, and they'll build ya one ASAP, as opposed to Saleen, who built one for magazines, to sell more of his Mustangs, Explorers and whatever else he builds, and may actually sell a few dozen of the S7's if he can get one to run well enough to be what in the biz is called a "saleable product". I don't know what the S7 sells for if you can get one, but an Aston Martin goes in the 'hood of $250,000 which is expensive compared to the average CObra, but actually affordable for the class it competes with.

How about an SVT Mach 1? Put that beautiful body style on a new suspension and drop in a blown 351 and I'm there!

Well guys I spent 3 months working at PDC(product development center) in Dearborn Mich. and Yes I SEEN ONE Blue,lowered,3"pipes and it didn't look like a proto, this baby had been running for awhile on the highways. It looked ready to go,fit and finish were excellent. It had either 18 or 20" tires on it i didn't get a good look at the make(hopefully not firestones)
