Sound system upgrade
I wanted to start small, and build up from there. For those of you looking for some tunes you can hear cleanly over the Eaton at WOT with the windows down (my criteria), I am pretty pleased with my new setup. I noticed a whole mess of different opinions on the FAQ, so I stepped up and tried something that is not high-end, but is definately not low end either.
Thanks to HANKFAN, I installed his Fosgate Punch 60ix. It's an older amp but it kicks butt and I hear some of the newer Fosgates just aren't what they used to be. Anyway, the amp is pushing two JLAudio 10" subs, each in their own box, which fit nicely behind the seats. I still am able to retain that deluxe storage box we're all so proud of. Instead of separates (didn't want someone drilling on my doors just yet), I went with some new Pioneer 6X8 3-ways. The stock deck powers the Pioneers, and they sound pretty damn good. Overall cost was about $500 including install plus the cost of the amp, which I got for a decent price.
I hope this helps those of you who want decent sound for a fair price.

Daniel,
each box is triangular in shape and fit snugly behind each seat on top of the storage box. I was worried the sound would be distorted with the subs firing forward but it sounds very clean. A bonus, you can feel the bass in the seat. If my back gets a little tight on long road trips, I'll simply turn up the bass and massage it away. Another advantage is I can simply unplug the boxes if I need more room behind the seats temporarily, and the storage bins are still there.
Both front and rear speakers can be 5X7 or 6X8. They both work well without any modification. I liked the Pioneers because they are designed to work with the F150, so their depth is right on (doesn't contact the door panel).
As for pics, email me at ralleyone@hotmail.com, and I'll send some off to you. The boxes are by MA Audio, which are some of the best out there.

I have two questions...
1) How'd you fit the two 10" subs AND the storage boxes? Anyway you can grab a pic? I'm getting a custom box built next weekend for a pair of Sony Mobile ES 10" woofers and I'm curious.
2) 6x8? Is that in the door? I thought our speakers were 5x7's... I was going to get Polk dx7's, but if we can get 6x8's, thats a whole new ballgame.
