What is a flipchip?????
I think that the answer is:
A "Flip Chip" hold 2 programs and allows you to switch between the 2 (e.g. "racing" and "street") with the FLIP of a switch.

Mine has the R9 program on one side and the stock program on the other. The reason for having the stock program on one side is that it is a safety measure should I wind up in an area with poor gas. If that should happen, I can run on the stock side and avoid pinging.

The Superchip Flip Chip holds 2 different programs, on 2 different chips internally, and that is why it is more expensive than the single-program Superchip. It also includes custom programming fees if any custom programming is needed at time of purchase.
As far as which one is "better", that depends on your needs. With the Superchip Flip Chip, the current program combination for the R9 setup has a program in Position 1 that has all our normal mods to transmission shift characteristics, etc., and then mild engine tuning. It is set up this way so that you can still do towing up to the Lightning's 5000 lb. towing limit, or to be used as a "fall-back" mode should you get a tank of bad gas, or need a reduced power mode for use in inclement weather, etc. Then in Position 2, it's the full performance program.
The single-program Superchip only contains the full R9 performance program, which you cannot do any towing with, as it's designed for maximum performance.
The vast majority of Lightning owners are using the Superchip Flip Chip instead of the single-program Superchip, as they want more flexibility, and the Superchip Flip CHip gives them that.
There are also some Lightnings running nitrous, and for those we set them up with a program for nitrous, and then the other program for use without nitrous, for example.
It all gets down to a matter of how the vehicle is going to be used, as with the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip with the R9 programs, you can still do everything that vehicle was designed from the factory to be able to do, only better.
The single-program Superchip with it's full performance program is the same full performance program that you get in Position 2 of the Superchip Flip Chip, so you don't lose any power by going with the less expensive single-program Superchip, you just don't have the added flexibility.
One thing to be aware of is this: with the Superchip Flip Chip, if you need any custom programming done at the time of purchase, there is no additional charge to do so, whereas if you use the single-program Superchip and need custom programming, it will cost you more money for the custom program.
So it gets down to vehicle usage, flexibility, convenience, and cost if you need custom programming, basically.
