Thumbs up Gates Blower Belt install...

Just installed and road tested the Gates belt on the Red Rocket.

Took 10 minutes TOPS. Only tool needed was a 12" Craftsman (or equivalent) philips screwdriver.

Instructions:

Slip the screwdriver under the intercooler resovoir, resting in the tensioner pulley while leaving the tip under the "LIP" of the tensioner bracket.

push down on the screwdriver, keeping it at a slight angle, so it travels between the lower-left pulley and fan.

slip the belt off the lower-right pulley, release pressure on screwdriver, SLOWLY.

work the belt around the fan.

repeat above steps in reverse.

Initial thoughts:

The stock belt was beginning to glaze (14,000 miles)

Boost seems to spool up slightly quicker. No AJ248C noticable difference.

Maybe just me but I like have a shorter belt. The more tension, the lesser chance of slippage.

Can anybody say cog system????? JIM.......BABOLT..........

When I installed mine I just removed the one top bolt and pushed the IC tank to the side. I then used a 1/2 drive ratchet and plugged it into the hole on the tensioner and took the pressure of the belt..
