I've been down this road as well. I started dating this girl a few years ago...our first date she asked of my hobbies. Well I'm a racer at heart and there's nothing that can change that. I told her that I have race cars now, I will probably have them from now on. Well it all hit the fan a year or so later and she basically said it's either me or going racing.
I've been racing ever since...by myself...and loving EVERY minute of it.
Trust me, if your girl's the same way, tell her to either hit the road or put up with it. You might have to spend a little more time with her, but at least hop in the Lightning and go for a sunday drive once in a while. That way you can both enjoy it. But it's definetly not worth selling the truck just to save a relationship..been there, done that. It's OK for a while after you sell but sooner or later (sooner for me....) she'll get tired of something else. Next thing you know you have given her the opportunity to completely change your life around and she'll figure out how to get to you....and she'll take full advantage. I know those type women. Then again, that's probably one reason I never married. I am set in my ways for the most part so any girl of mine had better figure out a way to put up with me or hit the road. Girl I'm dating now...she LOVES racing, cars, trucks, stuff like that....and absolutely loves getting under the cars with me. It's cool because I need the help sometimes. Only bad part is, she wants to drive my Maverick drag car now...and I don't know if she's ready for it.
