Lightbulb traction at the track

When you guys run your cars at the track do you slam on the gas at the light or do u go easy until your tires grip i would think if you slam on the gas the tires would spin too long and loos traction

Wow JL.....

13000 RPM, you must have one of those 4 cylinder rice burner engines in there....

Talking

13,000... geez, you gotta leave a little bit of flash in there!!! Besides, I don't think these engines like to be revved over 12,500 rpm..
LOL!!!!!
But seriously, I have had good results (1.98 short time) with my STOCK L stalling it about 1200 rpm and going to the floor immediately. HOWEVER, Mike Traylor assures me that when I get my Superchip installed (today!!!) it will be a whole different world on the starting line. I'm going to the track tonight so we shall see!

Kristi,

Which chip did you get from Mike Troyer? The R7 or R9?

Be sure to post your times with the chip.

Tip on installing a chip..... after you have followed enclosed instructions and get everything cleaned, hooked up and ready to turn key.

Don't panic cause all the gauges will peg. They will stay that way for a few seconds and return to normal. That almost blew my mind when it happened to me. My 1st Gen Lightning didn't do that.

Another tip.... if it doesn't start disconnect battery again..... remove PCM and clean some more carefully.

I think your Chevy wagon looks great!

Enjoy!!

A man after my own heart... complimenting my baby!!! LOL
I just finished installing my R9 Superchip and I did have to go back one more time to clean the connections again, but after that it worked fine. I had to stand on a bucket to get my hands way back there to the wiring harness bolt, but otherwise, everything was smooth sailing. It feels awesome, most noticeably the shifts.. I cannot believe how much more positive and firm they are. I am going to the track tonight and will post results when I get home.
Kevin- sorry to get your thread off topic, but now it will get back on because I will shut up. LOL

I have the R9 chip, & stage against the brake at 1,000-1,200 RPM. lift off the brake & slam the gas to the floor. I get consistent 1.9- 1.99 60' times. just make sure you lift the brake just before you stomp the gas, or it will go up in smoke! This works at a decent track. Lloyd
