Post Any benefits from 3" in/out muffler to 2 1/2"?

I noticed most have installed Flowmasters w/ 2 1/2" openings. What about the 3".Will I lose any horsepower or torque from going larger. Someone told me that it is louder w/ the 3", but no power loss.Is this true?

I have tried this 3 inch in and out with 3 different mufflers.I know first hand about this.I tried flowmasters,MBRP,Magnaflow mufflers each muffler resulted in a loss of about 15 foot pounds of torque or at least 1 to 1 1/2 tenths at the track.Leave your stock muffler on for best results unless you want it to sound alot meaner which it will with 3 inch.

You may lose torque, I don't know since I haven't dynoed my dual 3" flows compared to stock, but an x-pipe should help, which is what I did.

dyno = 363 rwhp, approx. 430 lbs-ft. torque (can't remember exact number but posted dyno chart here) swanson chip, psp filter, exhaust, NO Pro-M MAF.

Someone else here had dynoed theres (can't remember who) with similar setup except the exhaust and got approx. 352 rwhp.
