Post NGK Spark Plug Gap?

1) If you have installed the V-Power TR6 (4177), what gap did you use, and why?

My understanding is that the NGKs should be gapped smaller than the stock platinums. Is this true?

2) Has anyone pulled their NGKs to see if there is any sign of fouling due to the lower heat range?

NGK says 0.044. Danny Swanson says that's too large, should be more like 0.035. We compromised on 0.038 and he installed them today. He also adjusted the pressure on the 3-4 shift, and now it shifts great w/o slamming into O.D. Truck runs really great now, it is an entirely different beastie than the one Ford built. Only problem is that it makes too much power; having trouble keeping the rear end planted firmly on the ground.

alphadoggy is correct. NGK plugs are recommended between 42-46 with 44 being mid-way.

Mine are set at 45. If the vehicle's spark is strong, it is better to have a wide gap than a small gap. The wide gap creates a bigger spark.

But there are a lot of opinions about this.
