Sorry to hear about your bad luck..Hopefully your insurance will buy you a new one.

If so, would you like to sell me your CUX1?
I have a CUX2 that could go with your 99.
That would help cover some of your deductible

Thank you. I believe insurance is handling everything as we speak. I spoke to my dealer today and he said it looks as if it is totaled. Conveniently enough they have a white 99 there with 6,000 miles...kinda odd. But thats just an option if I do decide to get another L. About the computer: I already have a cux2 in it. My cux1 burnt up after installing a superchip a while ago. They replaced it with a cux2. If they total the vehicle I am going to pull the cux2 out anyways. Along with my shm chip and psp intake. Also grabbing my optimum battery and of course my stere which was stolen and replaced less than a month ago.

Is there a reason why a CUX1 is preferred over a CUX2 PCM? Mine was reflashed to a CUX2 and now my chip doesn't work. I need to get it reburnt.

I lost about 30hp after going from CUX1 to CUX2. My new chip is better, but I think it will take some more reburns before I get back to the performance I had.

Floyd 91,
Sounds like you have everything figured out.
If you decide to get a 2001, that CUX2 might come in handy, seems like a 12 mo lag before the chip makers get these fine tuned.

how does someone burn their computer by installing a chip? Does it have to do with cleaning the contacts or lack there off?

That was my thoughts too tundra..... I dunno really. The second chip I installed worked like a charm. Did the same thing as before too.
