These times are a lotta BS. I can only believe that the muscle cars were all running on stock tires of the day. There was a big block 454 stock running the 1/8 (this was a drive in car not trailered) last Friday at 7.4. My best was 8.44. My factor sheet (since I don't run the 1/4) says that an 8.44 (1/8) is equal to a 13.22 (1/4). And this list says that I'm faster than an LS-6 70 Chevelle? Hogwash.

Noel, those are not "best times". look at the far right, and you will see the mag and year recorded. i've seen the lightning run 14's in the mags and i've seen it run 13.3 too. those are not factory times, it's what they got on "that day". i saw a low mileage 70 LS6 454SS on that TV show with the guy with the weird mustache. he ran a 14 flat on same type rubber that came with car

 

Wonder what that chevelle would do with a set of MT ET Streets? Probably in the 12s.

 

probably drop the driveshaft with the 500-600ft lbs that beast had. i think he burned those 60 series "polyglass gts" thru the 1/8"
