Talking IF YOU'VE HAD YOUR INTERCOOLER REPLACED

Yea again,

Blue Oval news has a forum like this and they have no knowledge of the intercooler problem. If you have had your intercooler replaced or are waiting parts please go over to http://blueovalnews.com/index.html look under features and click on MESSAGE BOARDS, and register and reply on PFA's thread.

The guy overthere has been a pain to Ford in some areas and may have access to some info that can help us. It won't hurt you to go over ther and post. I suspect we are the tip of the iceburg. As more owners increase the miles on their trucks to 20k+ and if replacement intercoolers start to fail we may have a real problem and if so we need to start on gathering info right now.

Thumbs up

Noel, Your right about this. With as many problems as folks have..Ford should have someone beef up the area where it is brazed. With the Firestone Fiasco it will take a group effort with a response to the area you mention or nothing will happen. A buddy of mine for over 20 years (Texan Ford Mechanic-Arlington, Tx) states there is no beefed up part...just a kit with the IC, 02 Sensors, Spark Plugs. Ford will let this one slide. Everyone must post to the area Noel mentions! Band together. Power in numbers..baby!

I'm amazed at the crap response you have gotten from your request. Everyone seems ready to cry and bitch, but I don't see a big rush to support your request. Oh well.

A few weeks ago I posted a meesage in the Ford Tech section of the message board.

here's a quote

Hey, I was curious if anyone at ford knows anything about this. Atleast 25% of the Lightning owners
I know have this problem, and many have had their intercoolers replaced, and others the entire
engine. My question is when will ford quit making the 99-00 intercooler and replace the intercooler
with an 01 intercooler? I have heard its a new design (due to intercooler leaks), and it will not bolt
up to the 99 and 00 inercoolers/superchargers.

Thanks.
