I knew this would get around quickly.

That was me! You think you felt sick, try being in the truck!

I was on the way back home from the SCCA Solo National Championships with an infected foot and believe it or not, the infection caused me to pass out behind the wheel. I went 700 feet off of the interstate at highway speeds before I landed in that ditch.

I am very thankful to be alive today. That truck kept me alive. I was not injured from the accident. Although, I was in shock from the infection. It also protected the car that I was towing (a new Corvette Z06).

Sadly, the truck is totalled. I loved that truck. I will definitely get another one.

Jim

Unhappy

Jim, Sorry about the infection and the truck.
But at least you're O.K. Trucks and cars can be replaced, but not human life!! Good luck on finding a new truck.

Ohh dude, that hurts just looking at it!! First off, Glad to here your O.K. But from now on, you have to change your Username to RamboLightning!!!

I showed my better half the picture and she gasped, "Oh my god, that could be you!" I too own a vette that I love to tow. Thanks a lot, I am not sure if she will ever let me tow it again, especially since I used to be prone to falling asleep on long hauls to see my girlfriend (now my wife of 15 years). Good luck!

Howardje, sorry about your loss. I remember when you took delivery at Sheehy. I was there. Last I looked Sheehy had a three 2000s. One each red, black and silver.

However, it appears that Preston Ford in Preston, MD. has been giving some super deals on Lightnings. Less than $27K. In case you did not know, Preston, MD is on Route 331, about a dozens miles or so off Route 50 in Easton, MD.

What road where you on when you crashed?

Thumbs down

Really glad to hear your OK, really sad to see your pics. When I had my lightning, I will say I never felt so safe. Big truck, lots of weight, and airbags.

I hope insurance does right by you, the lightning, and the corvette.

Errr, now when do those 2001s come out?

Sold the 99.5 Lightning.. wait on a 2001!

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. Lightning, the best of both worlds!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I really appreciate it.

The insurance company has totaled the truck and is paying me $30,800.

I believe that I could probably pick up another one for less than $28,000.

Redlite,

I remember meeting you. Thanks for the tip on Preston Ford. I will give them a call.

I was on route 70 just east of Kansas City in Oak Grove Missouri.

See ya!

Jim
