Cool Calling Tampa Bay......

I saw in one of your post that you have a Bell Tech 3/4 drop kit on your Lightning! I was thinking about going with the same kit! How do you like it? Does it ride rough? And how does it handle? Also do you have a close up picture of your L so that I could see how the drop looks? Thanks for your help!!

Gary:

Ride and handling is excellent(not rough). Looks much better. Will take some pictures at the Truxpo show in Daytona this weekend.

I did the springs and shackles already. Still have to do the hangers. So really it's a 2/2 drop right now. Truck still has the original rake that it had from Ford, just 2" lower now.

Springs only took 1.5 hours to do and was a simple install. Be aware that you'll need cam adjusters during the install. I found out during the allignment. Could have done them myself and saved $200.00.

Shackles are easy. Hangers are gonna be a b**ch. May have to have someone else do them.

Good Luck.

Gary:

Check with an alignment shop for the adjusters(Goodyear, Firestone, etc.). They did the install for me but if you're doing your own springs like I did, you'll have them already torn apart, so they shouldn't be much to install.

As far as shocks, I've retained the factory Lightning shocks for now since I only did 2"x2" drop front and rear. If it becomes a problem, I'll probably go with a good set.(Bilstien)
