Talking Guess what I bought today!!!!!!!!!!!!

The vette is gone (brief memorial, blah blah) and in my driveway sits a black 2000 Lightning!
Adamson Ford met my offer and I have spent the last hour remembering how much fun it is to drive a muscle car (ok, truck) rather than a sports car.
She is beautiful, she is fast, and I am in love

Guess I need to change the ol' User Name now!

Welcome!

Wow, you've been racing for quite a bit! Love the quote on your home page:

A girl, a car, and a need for speed.

Congrats on the L!

Just curious though. Why sell a C5 to get an L? If I could afford one I would have a c5 right now....hmm then again...i guess a Vette couldnt hall around my hot tub. Tough call.

Whats your web site addy?

I sold my 98 vette to get the L. Well, truth be told, my vette was in the damn shop so much from computer glitches to incapable service personnel, that I sold it back to Chevy for every dime I paid for it. I put 60k miles on it in 18 months, and it was in the shop 88 days out of those months. I loved it and I hated it. The sad thing was, the damn thing got 30mpg on the highway in 6th. Going from that to 10mpg is the only serious bummer.
Like Kristi said, a musclecar is different than a sports car. It sounds better, and it's the torque that makes all the difference.

My wesite: www.dragracer.cc
It is under construction right now so it kinda sucks and not all the links work but it's just something I fiddle with when I have time. Thanks for the compliment, thepawn. I was born into a racing family and its just been a natural progession. Don't get me started, I could go on for days

95Saleen... the Vette was nice, it was just like "been there, done that" you know? I get bored with EVERYTHING (except racing) very quickly and I trade cars quite frequently. It was simply time for a change. Spend 6 months with a C5, give yourself time to get over how damn cool everyone thinks you look in it, figure out what all the buttons do, and then it's just like any other car. I know there is a vast collection of "Corvette People" out there who will argue vehemently about that, but that's just how *I* feel about it. It's a nice car that carries with it one hell of an image, but it has its drawbacks like anything else. I found that most Corvette people are horrified by the fact I raced mine on a regular basis. They felt Corvettes were for parking in the garage for months on end and occasionally driving to car shows, where you dust and spit shine it every 30 seconds and hope some fat old fogey thinks it is nice enough to receive a $5 plaque pronouncing it worthy. Thanks, but no thanks. Heck, it made a great bracket car! Easy to cut a light with, wouldn't spin in a mudhole, easy to see out of, and had a killer brake setup. I won several big-buck races with it and had a blast. But, as I've said, it had lost its luster to me and I was ready for something different. I couldn't have gone further toward the other end of the spectrum without falling off I am quite happy with my decision. Maybe I never had what it took to be a true "Corvette Person" to begin with, but oh well Excuse me, old farts, for using the car the way it was built to be used... LOL Whatever happens as a result of my consistent so-called abuse is now Adamson Ford's problem

Tomorrow we get a bedliner and window tint!

I will try to have the vette off my site and the L up soon.

I am so happy

ralleyone... exactly!!! I got so tired of little nitpicky things going on with the vette. Tire pressure is one psi off in my right rear and I get *ding ding* and a message on the DIC... don't bug me with that crap!
Memory seat went to a different incorrect position almost every time. Glass top leaked. Exhaust never fit right and rattled in sharp curves and over bumps. And let's face it, the sound system left something to be desired. Just little stuff that kept making me think it was out of place in a car that expensive. Again, maybe it was just me, but either way, it got on my nerves enough that I was ready to be rid of it.
OK I have analyzed enough tonight. The doctor will be back in tomorrow... LOL

I just stopped by your site, nice, very nice. You have some good shots going on there. Now that you are an L owner, I expect to see some good stuff about your new beast.

J/K. Can't wait to see some picks of the L. on the cool site you have. good choice on the color. Black is King of the visuals and it's the quickest. Have fun with your new toy!
