Temps went from mid 50s in the afternoon to mid 30s this evening. Excellent racing weather! I spent a couple of hours this morning washing and drying her, clay bar-ing her, and applying her first coat of Zaino so she'd be looking her best for her track debut.
First pass was an 8.86 @ 80 mph, spinning a little (2.07 short time). I was impressed! Best pass of the evening was an 8.83 @ 80 mph with a 2.05 60', still barking the tires a bit on launch plus I was deep-staged, which kills about .05. So I figure I would have ended up in the high 8.70s shallow staging. I was doing a very short burnout with one dry hop and stalling it up to 1100 RPM.
Are these numbers pretty typical for an L's first time out?
I hope to get some 1/4 mi passes on it this Wednesday to get some baseline figures. I will post results if anyone is interested.
