Question Headlight & Foglight protection

I saw in this months issue of Motor Trend an advertisement for clear covers so I went on their website and they didn't look to bad. They do make them for our L's. Their web address is www.xpel.com if anybody wants to check it out. The price for six pieces they show is $53.96 if you go to their site just click on products at top of page then click on light protection kits to the left of the screen then click on Ford where it says select a make & Lightning is the 12th one down. Opinion appreciated & sorry if this was a little long.

I've had both the Texas Mustang fog light covers and StoneGuard. My fog lights have managed to melt both.

StoneGuard is similar to Xpel, and I was thinking of giving Xpel a try. My StoneGuards browned in the middle and I ended up having to peel them back off.

The TM covers are plastic pieces that just sit over the lense a distance away from the light...they were wokring well, then one day when my fogs must have been hot, the top of them kinda "squashed down" and they were no longer a round shape.

If the Xpel's don't work, I'll just buy another set of TM covers. BTW, I have NOT increased the wattage of my fogs, they are still 55 watts. I am running EagleLite Xenon Whites though. (aka, wanna-be HIDs)

Iam running 135W whites, so I guess there is no hope for protection for me. There would be a good probability that they would melt anything. Haven't broken the glass lenses yet, but do go thru bulbs often.
