I have clicking too

I have a 99 L but the clicking I hear is not like a exhaust leak. It does not click all the time but when it does, it does it at idle, while driving, when the engine is off and it clicks at a rate of about one click per 10 seconds. I can't really tell where it is comming from, but I'm pretty sure it sounds like the passenger side of the engine bay. If any one knows what it could be pleez tell me.

He did say with the engine off, if thats the case and with a name like Batman I'm thinking the Joker is playing games Ok ok sorry Batman I couldnt resist

Ok little more info needed, when you say it clicks when it's not running are we talking about right after you shut it off, anytime it's off, no matter how long it's off ???

If it's clicking right after you shut it off, or sometimes at other times when it's running and you hear it near the pass side I would almost want to say it could have to do with the duct work and vac operated valves that open and close flaps that divert the air to the different vents (heat, def, ac vents, etc)

But if it's def an under the hood noise then obviously it's something else....

Yes it clicks when the engine is off but it slowly gets quieter over a period of about five minutes after the engine s off . My truck has 56,000 now and it started in the last 3 to 4,000 miles. I can hear it while I'm driving, sitting at a light, and when i get out. Now, it does not do it all the time, I would say it starts clicking 50% of the time. With the hood up, it sounds like its comming from around the blower, but again some times it sounds like it comming from below, or around the exhaust, I really can't pin point the source.

Just a thought,as the noise occurs after shut down as well. Could be clogged cats making the exhaust temps get very hot. Could be expansion and contraction noises.

If it was clicking and during summer i would say its just the AC system decompressing, and the evaporator dripping water and what not.

My stock exhaust system did that, even when the truck was new.

I dont think it is the expansion and contraction because it is too consistant, click..........click..........click..........click . I have a magniflow exhaust cat back but I got that before the click. Today I drove 20 mile before I heard it. I drove from Clearwater to St Petersburg and all around St Pete then headed home after 4 hrs and i heard it only the last 15 mins in the truck. I'm house hunting. know the typical clicking noise you hear when you shut a car off and the exhaust is clicking and ticking, and poping. That is typical.
