1) Unscrew your clear bowl. being careful not to lose the rubber o-ring (that sometimes sticks inside the bowl housing)
2) Unscrew the barrel filter retainer (under the filter) until it comes out along with the upper filter sheild.
3) Take carb cleaner spray and soak it good..inside & out.(do not allow the carb spray to touch the clear plasic bowl..it will cloud the plastic)
4) Blow the pourous barrel filter with compressed air, or with your mouth over a hanky to push the excess cleaner out.Allow to air dry for 10-15 minutes.
5) Wipe the inside of the upper housing and assemble. Your good to go.

I have an LFP separator and I drilled a hole in the bottom of the stone all the way up to the housing cavity. It doesn't help with the oil vapor but it sure fills up fast now.

That is actually a good idea, but one must be careful not to let the oill fill up near that hole.I will try a very small hole in the filter element as an experiment. Good input!

I agree, old school motors never had any PCV BS, Just remote mount them for cheap and never look back or worry about cleaning the intercooler, or seperators, never worry about fouling out plugs and burning up oil..etc

If you want to see just how much the compressor type seperators dont work... put another one after the first one and see how much oil gets past the first one. Breathers all the way!
