General Lightning Questions(Stolen Lightning)

Alright As some of you already know my trucks was stolen and found. The Insurance are being some *** right now.
As of now the Rims are shot 1 is actually broken in many pieces. The back tires are completly gone and the fronts ones suffered curb damage and have nicks and what not.

I just turned over 17K on the truck and the insurance told me that Goodyear F1's only last 20k cause of the truck. I was baffled because there is NO WAY people would spend 321.00 for a tire that only last 20k. However, there is no written place on goodyear only disclaimers. Any Help/Advice on this subject would help greatly Thanks.

Here is what is wrong with my truck:

Tires and Wheels
Front Bumper
Hitch
Hitch Harness(bent all the way backwards)
O.Sensor destroyed by my exhaust being slammed into it
Exhaust damged plus the two tips are bending up my side skirt
door damage(broke in)
keyless entry
brakes, rotors are shot due to brake torquing*/sucking at driving

thats the list. they drove it 300 and some odd miles and mechanically it looks great still.

Thanks for any Help/Advice

Actually, they usually dont last more than 15-20k miles! Thats a fact.

Ive had 4 lightnings and under normal performance driving .I have yet to get more than 17K out of any of them.

I imagine you might squeeze 30k if you never got on it and did all highway driving but its certainly NOT the norm.Your insurance company is dead right.

Keep bitchin till they give u a figure that is close to acceptable to u, they will always try to low ball the first time they talk to u. Deposit their check into your saveings acct, then repair as much of the damage yourself as u can and pay yourself for your labor out of the ins money and then hopefully all will be repaired and u may have enough money to buy some tires.....I have never seen the goodyears last 20,000 miles, they dont last for sh*t from my experince, but then again didnt u just buy those tires about6-8 months ago??HeEHe.....That would be my story........

(Curious, how did they steal your truck with our trucks haveing "Passive anti theft system"?

They probally think its an insurance job because it sure sounded that way to me from your prior post with the limited information you told us.......

In no way am i saying it is but it just sounded like a tyical one. Ive done it, so i have a little experience.I almost went to jail over it.I got caught.I was a young idiot (17) and thought i was so smart..........

Also, Fords are almost impossible to steal..................Unless it was a very very professional thief.Usually professional thieves, dont beat on a truck, they bring it somewhere and strip it,and recycle all the metal and NOBODY EVER SEES THE TRUCK AGAIN .they dont beat it and leave it to be found It all adds up to an possible insurance job in the insurance company's eyes

Tires are always rotated. I only drive this truck on the weekend. The paint is perfect on the truck and they used screwdrivers to open up the keypad.

Its definatly not an insurance JOB. I want what I bought point blank. My tires couldve last a while longer and as far as the truck itself it was immaculant.

From: Pittsburgh PA,
I had to replace mine around 6000 miles, the rears were shot ,and the fronts only had around 4/32 on them. They were rotated once, even if they would want to replace them with the f1s,I would not go that route again.I replaced mine with the nittos and really like them overall.Just try to keep a cool head when dealing with your adjuster and you should be treated fair.

Once I got that truck back to sellable shape it would be for sale in no time. Those 300 miles were probally harder than all 17k you put on it. it sounds like they beat the pis out of that poor L. Sorry to hear about all the damage.

+1 on the F1's...

If you don't get 20,000 out of a set, you are also one of the guys complaining about 10 MPG.

I replaced mine at 25,000 with Toyo Proxes and they still have a lot of life left, even though the odometer has 60,000+ on it now.

I will give credit where credit is due - the Toyos are lasting much longer, but the F1's were a better performing tire. I guess they should perform better - they are softer, which is why they wear like ***** !!!

I guess it is true - you can't have your cake and eat it too.....

I believe you but there is a reason.

Then you my friend drive like a b-i-t-c-h. Plain and simple

If you got that many miles out of your lightnings tires, you should have bought a ranger. Its CERTANLY NOT THE NORM!! So once again, you are wrong!
For every 1 person like you, i can show you 20 who actually DRIVE the truck and i dont mean beat it who cannot get more than 17k.also, your truck must be stock. Not too many left on here stock........................

20k out of the GoodYears is probably about right. No way they should pay for new tires. At best a depreciated amount for the 17k driven. Our Lexus states right in the owners manual to only expect about 10k miles out of the factory rubber. $321 for GY's? Have they gone up that much.
