Well, a warm welcome. I am currently in Anchorage, moving here from Eagle River.

Where and when are you going to be at (there)?

I have met another Lightning owner, told him about this site, I think he's from Fairbanks. There is only 1 other Black Lightning owner in Anchorage that I know of.

For the longest time I thought my truck was Rhino Lined, then one day I looked closer and saw that Line-X badge underneath a rail. Its is thick stuff, you are going the right route by getting it lined. I hauled an engine picker, an a inline 6, a 16cu. ft. freezer, 2 full loads to the dump, and a bunch of furniture.

All in the last 2 days. Sure was glad the truck was Line-Xed.

Email me sometime, maybe we can meet up somewhere, Road Runner?

Thumbs up

Thanks for the input-even thought I read it after the fact. Chose Line-X and glad I did.
Guy did a excellent job and it looks great.
For anyones info- I was curious about added weight-tech told me most installs use 50#'s
of material.

I have the rhino liner and my buddy has the line-ex.. I suggest the rhino liner because the liner when dried has almost a rubbery feel to it, and his doens't anymore after about 5 months. Mine is exactly the same as the day it was installed. The line-ex also faded from the weather/sun in his truck and mine is still shining away just like my tires!!

Thumbs down

I had the Rhino in my 93 L. Within 6-8 months it was faded big time. DOn't get me wrong. The spray-in liner was the ticket. Like Tundra, I hauled furniture, trash, Ca-Ca, etc with no scratches to the bed or the furniture.

After I while of faded rhino, I started spraying it with Black Magic Tire Wet once a month, that kept it looking good.

I did park the truck outside ALL times, rain/sleet/snow/100 degrees. I think if you garage it, the shine would last a lot longer.

I saw a line-x a week ago, it looked great!! I think it was too early to expect fade on it yet.

Either way, get the spray in....

Hey, Nice picture that you sent me in your email, Mark. I am gonna have to upload it to my site and post it here for all to see, if you don't mind.

My Line-X hasn't faded on me yet, but that may be because I have the factory tonneau cover option. I have seen trucks without any liner and once they haul metal with any kind of mass to it like a engine picker, or an engine for that matter, you can say good bye to that finnish. That is ofcourse you have another truck that you can do those things to. Having the Line-X has allowed me not to even worry about the bed. I even had it undercoated with Line-X, and it cut down on the road noise a little bit.

It was nice meeting you Mark, hope you had a nice drive, and we should meet up sometime next summer at one of the race tracks! I have big plans for next summer.

I am still in the process of finding an apartment, so I won't be able to email much.
