LS,

take the back off too, reset the computer, then ive it a shot.

Ear-o-meter = YEPPERS
ASSJET248 = slight but noticeable.

Be sure to put some rubber on the "base" to prevent any nasty contact with the underside of the hood.

Hearing the blower whine even more is well worth it...IMHO

Maybe its just the power of suggestion, but when I took the front cover off of mine last week, I seemed to notice a difference. I also ran my best time with the cover off but it was also in cooler temp. I have to admit, I was a bit sckeptical at first but I figured that with only the front cover off, it could'nt hurt since the back and lower cover would keep the hot air from the engine out.
Since then, I have also added the JL ram air kit and again, I think I have noticed a difference, although I have not tested the ram air yet. I am keeping it just the way it is. Getting enough air to the engine can be very tricky in that even the most minute changes can make a difference. For example, having a smoothed bore intake to allow the air better flow can make a big difference.
JL recommends taking the entire box off but that seems that it would negate some of the value of shipping cool air in just to have hot air being mixed with it. JMHO, Jeff

I too took off the front, no noticeable increase in noise or power. But as the temperature keeps falling, the power definitely is rising. (and so does the boost level)

LS,
ASSJET248 = "LOOK OUT HERE I COME!"
I took both the front and rear panels off my airaid.Noticed a .5psi of boost gain.I have that Autometer gauge and before it went to 9.5 now its at 10.also gained .5 with JL ramair.I will be selling my filter if you want it.I felt an immediate gain.It is the 10" S&B.Ill see ya on sunday.Hopefully the PSP Filter kit gets here by then.

Best ET before mod :13.47 @ 101.7
Best ET now :13.24 @ 103.2
The only thing i did to get it was JL ramair and take the walls off the box.

Post Remove Airaid front cover?

I did this & no significant changes to Earometer or Assometer. I think a few people on this board have selective memory! Oh well it was worth a shot right? Lloyd
