An adapter like this. Would anyone like one that has been Extrude Honed and will have the Lightning Logo milled into the top. It will flow more air.

This is the Logo that will be milled into the top.

All adapters will have the flow data available with them. There are a few more products that I will be making that will free up the intake track and the exhaust track on the Lightning. Stay tuned.
Hey Johnny Lightning ! You are safe I will not do the ram air.

The raised/enlarged supercharger outlet adapter (or top, as they are often called)and with a free flowing exhaust, the enlarged adapter really becomes beneficial and also becomes a great "bang for the buck" bolt on/

Take a look at the pics (its of a thunderbird), Basically it lowers the restriction of air flow between the blower and the transition to the intercooler (on a thunderbird). It helps in two ways, lowers the temperature caused by friction and also limits the parasytics loss due to easier flow. If you look at the pics you will see the difference in the opening.

(this info (and pics) comes curtisy of Aaron Pedroza)

Hi Dwight!
It will make a big difference and I will show the flow numbers too. Now if you really want to open up the intake track you need to do this.

To bad I don't show the bottom side. Maybe later.

Question

Will you have to have the single blade throttle body and will chips have to be reprogrammed?

No you do not need the oval bore throttle body but it will help. The whole purpose of this exercise will be to remove all or most of the intake restrictions to the Lightning. I may flow the whole intake assembly ( air meter through the adapter) and with that data a sharp tuner could take advantage of that infomation.

I think that a ported and polished intake adapter will aid performance. A custom milled top will just look good. I think that it just adds something that was missing in the original release. I think that these motors look like something you would find as a stationary power plant. They need something to set them off.

Do you machine the parts yourself or do you have access to a machine shop? Quite a hobby for a Ford programmer.

Please do not post it on your website, it is too hard to find anything on it!!

I do not have a final price established yet. I 've purchased adapters and have made arangements with Extrude Hone and the milled art work will be completed when I have the adapters back. They will then be either painted or powdercoated black (I hate the grey). I will do some type of peformance coating on the inside that will enhance air flow. If anyone is interested they can send me e-mail: mphillips@mediaone.net All that I can say right now is that the completion is about three weeks away.
