Its almost better if they did not find the truck. Now you have to wonder how much they beat the sh&^ out of your truck before they found it. They would drive me nuts. Who would steal an L and not beat the living pis# out of it.
My Mechanic gets to to scale the thing with a fine tooth comb. Im sure I will be getting news tires and such. My truck will not be abused cause I dont even abuse it. So I will make sure its back to form eventually in the coming months.

I am glad you get your truck back. If anything of mine were ever taken(aside from my GN) I would hope it is never found. It would always feel dirty and bother the **** out of me! I had a car of mine broken into and almost stolen on 09-11-01 and still to this day it bothers me!!!
Either way best of luck and I hope you enjoy your truck again!
I can't believe it wasn't stripped. Hopefully the engine is fine and you can put all this crap behind you. Thank goodness they found it.
You need layers of protection (as in 2 - 3 kill switches) to protect your rides. The crooks today have already outsmarted auto manufacturer security systems.
Take a look at this John Hopkins University Study. They crack the codes on keys and tags. They notify Texas Instruments of the vulnerabilities but they don't buy it until the JHU students give them a little demonstration. Very interesting!

Here is an article about a guy (which was a former police officer) that come out of a Target store and found that his 2003 Lincoln Navigator was gone. His insurance company put him through hell because they believed he had something to do with the theft of his vehicle since he had both keys in his possession. They denied his claim. Very good read. Absolutely unbelievable!

I have been researching this little jewel for a while and I am thinking of adding it to my truck for another layer of protection.

Here is some good info on the Ravelco anti-theft device

Here is a good video from the Ravelco web site. It shows a news crew going around with a guy in a parking lot as he uses a "Remote Frequency Counter" to capture codes. When someone uses their remote to lock the doors or arm an alarm he just records the frequency and plays it back with the RFC and viola he is in. Whats even more disturbing is you can buy the RFC for about $115.00 online no questions asked. I watched the video and went right to the website. Unbelievable! You may have to download the codec to watch the video but it is worth it IMHO. It will definitely open your eyes.

What amazes me most is I found all of this information onlin in a matter of minutes and I'm just a dumb azz redneck. I can only imagine what these people that do this for a living can access.
The bottom line is if they want it bad enough they will get it. But you can make it to where the only way they will get it is to tow it off.
