Post Overheating probs???

For those of you that own L's in southern states, have you ever experienced any overheating problems during the summer months?

HE SAID WITH TONGUE IN CHEEK...
I too am a Lightnin owner, live in a southern state and have experienced OVEREATING during the summer months. I have also noticed the same thing during the winter months...Uh, maybe the weather has nothing to do with this matter.
Perhaps the Lightin owner that wanted to rid himself of those heavy footpounds of torque could offer some technical assistance on this topic.

Safeman,
I had the same thing happen to me when I owned an '86 IROC. I was driving to work at 6am in Denver in February and it was about 10 degrees outside and my car started smoking from under the hood. I was like "How the h#ll is my car overheating?" Ended up being that I did not have enough antifreeze in the radiator and the water froze inside the engine. Of course, frozen water does not travel through the engine to disipate the heat. Don't know if that has anything to do with your problem or not.

Temp gauge never rose at all, even in heavy traffic at 112 degrees, with a road surface temp somewhere in the 130's.

Same here, never had any overheating issues in the two worst summers I can remember in the Houston area, even when towing, with the a/c blasting and sitting in traffic on the freeway, the needle never moved.

I've never had a problem in San Antonio and it has been HOT this summer. Still, I cant wait for cooler air. The truck does run a bit weaker when the temp gets to 100-105.

Cool

Nope, no problems here in Tucson, worked all summer fine. Guage goes to same place when the engine is warmed up and just stays there no matter what....it is a bit disconcerting though to see the inside temp guage hit 117 or so when I park it on a hot day in my closed garage....

It was Africa HOT (117 in shade)and I didn't have a single problem with the truck.

Thermometer said 131 when it was sitting in the sun... OUCH!!
