daily driver shoot out...

Just a couple links from a daily driver street car shoot out. My truck was still on the stock longblock. My mods at the time included, tune, 16 psi on a non ported eaton, no cats and twin flowmaster's, CAI, C&L upper and throttle body. Basicly on DR's it turned 8.0 on an 1/8 mile track. The Mach 1 on the spray and slicks along with the S-10 with an LT1 were my closest races that night.

LOL, whatever... you can hear a chatter box on the WS6 right before the launch and the way he's shifting down the track, seems like he's driving the hell out of it.. As for the Z06, we raced again and...again I beat him here's the link for the 2nd race and I was also easy on the launch...still won. I was actually most impressed with the S-10 that had the LT1 in it. The mach1 had slicks and a 100 shot, I thought it ran pretty dam good also. In any event, pretty darn good for a lightly modded "stock longblock" L at full weight.

It just makes those guys crazy when a farm implement beats them down the race track. I have watched guys trying to avoid me in test and tune staging lanes. I love it.

Great vids. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for the videos

And I agree with Dan, it was the smart thing to do it at the track

Awesome runs against some pretty stout competition. You have totally motivated me to get my butt to the track and see what I can do. Question though, how many of those races do you think you would have won had they been a full 1/4 mile?

Chesster51...Good question. I would like to think I could have still won them all....

In reality probably the suprise would have been the WS6 and the S-10. The WS6 actually lost in the first 100 feet and didnt have enough time to make the ground up. He crossed the line about my rear bumper. The S-10 was on a set of slicks and come out of the hole great but to my suprise was pulling down the track at my pace, his nose was actually about my door at the line and I couldnt shake him. The mach 1 was a good race but the big slicks slowed him down on the other end a little. The cobra came out of the hole good but i was slowly pulling on him just a little. The vette who knows, we actually ran 3 times and I beat him every time. I jumped all over him out of the hole but he didnt seem to be running me down on the other end. There were lots of faster cars there and I did get beat by a TA with a Stroker. I jumped on him out of the hole and he easily reeled me in. Not to bad considering I was the only Lightning there. Most everyone is set up to run the 1/8, all of our local tracks are 660'. The closest 1/4 is 2 hours away. I figure you dont have far to go so you better nail the light and get out of the hole good and hold on.... , BTW that was before the built motor/KB.

Couple more questions if you don't mind. What was your launch procedure, did you heat up the DR's? Are you running a line lock? What kind of 60' times were you getting? Sorry for all the ?'s.
