Question Questions about ordering '01 L

Forgive me for what I'm sure are redundant questions, but for some reason, the FAQ will not come up for me.
I am wondering if orders are already being accepted for the '01 Lightning and if not, when will they be? What sort of time frame are we looking at for delivery once orders are accepted? I have had several bad experiences with ordering cars from GM and I'd really hate to get burned again. Finally, where is a good, reliable source to find specs?
Note- I haven't spent much time exploring all this yet, I would just like some preliminary questions answered before I decide to go further.
Thanks for any information you can provide, and again, I am sorry for being repetitive.

It all depends on the dealership. Chose a good one and all will be OK. Chose a bad one and you will get burned again.

If you want a 2001, don't worry about specs, MSRP, time frame, or anything else, just order. Then pray when it arrives the dealersip doesn't try to raise the quoted price on you, or sells yours to a friend of the GM's, or sells yours to someone that is willing to pay more and then re-order your L.

Don't pay more than MSRP which will be around $31,900-$32,000. I have heard, first delivery will be around Christmas but the odds are that won't happen. More than likely around January.

Thanks for trying our FAQ's but if I recall correctly, there isn't any 2001 info. on it. Try the "search" button on the top right side of F150 pages and you will find more info. than I'm giving.

I walked into the SVT dealer, put down a $200 deposit, picked silver as my color, and picked the only option, the $150 tonneau cover, and am first on the list for a '01. I am told it will cost MSRP.

The main question here is are they taking orders for a 2001 yet, and the answer is yes.
The build date unfortunatly has been pushed back to December, which means if you've put down $$ on one you will not have it untill February or March depending on which VIN you recieve.
I have order two just to be safe.
