Question Looking for a '00 Lightning...

Hey guys, I am looking for any 2000 Lightnings you may have seen at dealerships BELOW sticker. I have found a couple here locally for 500 under, but if I can find one cheaper farther away(from Dallas) I would go get it. Thanks!

Tallahassee Ford has a coulple that they have had for a while. And from experience I know that they do not like hanging on to inventory for very long. Can't give an exact price but I was pleased with the deal they gave me.

This may be too far for you to drive but I do know that a man from New York drove flew down here and drove one back so he must have got a good deal. Sales contact would be Joe Ramont and his number is (850)877-1171 and tell him Phil gave you his name. He will treat you as right as possible. And if you can make a deal let me know, I work next door. Lunch on me.

Phil

A new member (TED-O)in the topic "PRICING ON 2001 LIGHTNINGS" says he just bought his 2000 for $26.6K. That is about a low a price I have heard to date except for maybe a Ford employee discounted price. He said dealer had six when he bought his Lightning. His signature says "Harwwod, MD". I live in Maryland and never heard of this place. Maybe it is a spelling error?

My local MD dealer is Sheehy Ford in Gaithersburg MD and they seem to always mark down $500 right off the top and negotiate from there. One member got his red 2000 there about four months ago for $29.5K. Sheehy currently has three Lightnings. One each black, red and silver. Number is 301-258-1015. You can ask for Pete Fulton if you are interested.

Cool

Found a buyer for my 1999 Camaro (had to sell it once I saw the Ls in person.) I just hope his credit goes through. Found MANY Ls out here for $28,500 , just Hope I can find a 2000 Black L for that same price. I don't care where it is. Just as long as I can get it before the California Speed Meet!

I guess that means that Bankston wouldnt deal on the Black one they had in the show room for MSRP + $1500 for Perma Guard or Profit Guard or what ever ?? IF I were you I would find my best price around the country print it and take that to Bankston. Tell them you are going to buy the other one and have it shipped here for $200 ... And see what they say.

If their smart theyll help you. But keep in mind that they will likely be intimidated by the fact that you know more about the truck and where you can buy them than they do...
Good Luck

98Cobra And Others:

I bought mine from Beechmont Ford in Cincinnati in May. I don't work for Ford, and consequently don't have access to the A-Plan, but I was quoted a price directly up front (no haggling, thanks) that was WELL below sticker. My salesman was Shane Whitaker (SVT guy), who, profession considered, seems to be one seriously good guy.

I called him just now, and he reports that they have a red 2000 on the lot, and will likely let it go at some amount below sticker. Based on my experience, I would expect a VERY competitive price. Give him a call if you're serious about buying a new 'Bolt. I got mine SEVERAL multiples of your magic "500 under".

A good time to make the drive to Cincy - The weather up here is really nice this time of the year.

I've been cruisin the dealers in Cincinnati and have seen several new Ls on the lots. Mike Castrucci has 8 (no kidding) in stock (2 white, 1 silver, 3 red, 4 black). Bob Townsend has a red and a silver. John Nolan has a red and 2 black. Kerry Ford has a white and a silver. Kings Ford has a black and a red. There is a glut of Ls in Cincinnati. I'm sure you could get a great deal if you're willing to make the trip.

Well, I am actually looking for a new one, and my order of preference is white, then silver, then black, and lastly, red. Besides, I noticed you are in Maryland, thatd be a drive from Dallas.

All good info! I am currently trying to leverage a local dealer into giving me a deal based on this, but if not, I'll go to Cincinatti and get one or have it shipped here.

Question

Cowanml1, you posted several days ago about all the lightnings in OH, specifically 8 at one dealership. Are they still there? I am starting to feel as though my local dealership is stringing me along a little. Thanks!
