Post CLUNK

I just read the post by Thunderstruck on his clunk post. I am happy that that fixed his, but when I took the part numbers that he had posted to my dealer, they claim these are not L specific and he would not put them on there. He says he has found numbers to the so called TSB that is always 3 weeks away no matter who you ask, but when his parts man calls them up he gets the "these are prototype numbers and parts not available yet" message. Oh well.

What I do know for absolute sure is that my dealer just hours ago replaced, for free, two Eagle F 1's that had gotten to the dangerous point because of inside wear. This is with a few over 9,000 miles. So I put the new ones on back, moved the old ones to the front and will continue this process every 9,000 or so till that so-called TSB gets done. Maybe I will never have to buy anymore tires.

Took mine in today for 1st oil change, tire rotation and front end alignment.(2945 miles) I also printed off the Clunk Information from yesterday and presented this to the service guy. He said he would have "the appropriate people" check it out and get it fixed for me. Whatever that means! Anyway they haven't called me yet so looks like I'll be driving that Taurus (Tar-a$$)until they call me. Will let yall know what they end up doing.

Good Point BEAR IT, I am getting real sick and tired of not get any answers from FORD on this clunk problem. I found the TSB for this problem and had my dealer do the response to that TSB which was remove all wax from the control arm and frame and then re-torque bolts to spec. It held for about 2 weeks then the bolt moved again. Is there a cam bolt kit for this problem or not. I keep hearing that ford is coming up with one but where is it. thankfully I do not drive my L the kind of miles some of the guys on this board do, but it still does not solve the problem. it seems to me that if the dealer is telling us not to put on the these # CONTROL ARMS and a few guys here have had them put on the truck with no problems then the SVT specific control arms must be the problem. they could be the wrong part for the L just with a little green SVT label on them.
