Cool Very Impressive

This is my first post on this message board, but I've been following it for a couple months now. I've got to say that I am very impressed with the level of enthusiasm, knowledge, and desire to help one another that most everyone on this site has. I've been in love with the Lightning ever since my dad owned his first '93. I'm still in college, but will graduate next May. My first purchase, after a house of course, will be a 2001.5 white Lightning. I have learned a great deal by reading all your comments and appreciate the fact that all are so willing to share their "secrets". Anyway, I hope to be posting info about my L someday, but until then, I'll keep on reading, learning and will continue to be jealous of all who are destroying ricers and the like. I guarantee that more than one import will see its fate to a white blurr on the streets of Tucson in the not-so-distant future.

Buy the truck before you get the house.

If you have to, you can sleep in the Lightning, but you can't drive a house!

That's exactly what I'd do if I were single, but try selling that to the wife. :-)

It's obvious to me that you didn't learn a great deal. You still are going to purchase a white L. I would have thought by now with all your knowledge, black would be on your mind!

Welcome. No matter what color you get, you'll fall in love with it.

You are correct and I present my proof right here...

BLACK L's----> OTHER COLORS---->
See! Now that you've seen this, you will change your mind as to color. Not as to purchase or not to purchase. That is not the question.

Desert Thunder,

Welcome to the board!

Follow the threads about our Arizona trips.

Peter B and Yoda are usually in the thick of the action. If you don't have your truck for our next trip, perhaps you can hook up with another Tucson L owner and ride along. A great bunch of guys and gals! Bobb is from Tucson and I'm certain he would be glad to let you ride along, right Bobb?

Don't get me wrong. I love the red L also, but in this sun down in Tucson, black is just a bad idea. I orginally did want the red L, but it seems that that's the most popular color. I'm the type of guy that doesn't like to do the same thing as everyone else, so I thought a white L would be the good way to go. Besides, I think it will look extremely rude with chromed wheels and tint. The only thing I will do that all of you seem to do is drop a good deal of money into mods. As fast as the L is stock, you can never go too fast.

I feel the need.... the need for SPEED!!!!

Craig,
Welcome aboard! Get your wallet out, you will need it at least once a month for: Chip, filter, Zaino stuff, Bedrug, tonneau, clear corners (ooops, not for you in 2001!), carbon fiber driveshaft, MAF, Valentine radar detector, G-tech, etc....and these are the easy mods...

I got my L from Holmes-Tuttle, are you going there or Click, or somewhere else? I have seen one Black L in Tucson, and one White L, no other Silvers. The problem here is NO ONE has a clue what it is and there is not a lot of "kills" to be had, pity.

And ADP is right, let me know if you are interested in our Fall trip...

Bobb,
I might look around on the internet or look up in Phoenix. I've got a brother-in-law that lives up there that said when the time comes he'll look around for me. I have seen at least one of each color here in town. I work for TEP down near Stone & Sixth, and when I was pulling out of work one day I saw a silver one. Could've been you, but at the time I had no idea that Ford was making a silver one and about crapped myself. I like the silver a lot too. It'll be tough to decide whether I go with white or silver. I had one guy pull out of a neighborhood on Wilmot one day, try to race me. I currently have a '71 Nova that's been recently painted and has some nice American Racing wheels on it. It looks fast, but isn't. He thought I might want to run him, but little does he know that I know more about his truck than he does. Anyway, if I happen to see another silver one around town, I'll let you know and ask if it was you or not. I'm off to class... take care all.
