Just saw it on TV. Great race.

I love it when the red cars win. When the silver ones burn, it's even better.

IMO, Indy was a whole lot better cicuit than I thought it would be, and the drivers seemed to like it too.

Forza!

Yeah, right, another victory for big tobacco. Yay. Do you have stock in Philip Morris?

Just got back from the race.
The battle for 1st was nothing special...
Schumacher is a robot.
Best news, I won a bet, I bet both Jag were going to finish... And to top it off the BMWs didn't finish...

Got to go to bed it is 3:45 a.m.

Hey everybody,

I got home last night about 10:00 p.m. from the race too.

It is pretty cool hearing 18,000 rpm from a car. We sat right near the pit entrance. When they would slow down for the entrance, the downshifts were unbelieveable!!!

I have a video of a little of the race. I will try to post it somewhere if someone can tell me how. Never posted any pictures or video before.

Also, the Porsche and Ferrari support races were cool....those 360 Modenas are pretty slick.

Later,

Collin

Now that I've fully recovered and the house is quiet again,

Living ten minutes from IMS may bias my opinion but this was a great event.

Sure, the cars were going the wrong way, drivers were inaccessible, yada, yada, yada.....so what. This is the best of the best in all aspects of racing, period. Top talent, exotic engineering, immense budgets, etc.

I enjoy and have worked many Indy 500’s and Brickyard 400’s, been to the Daytona 500, and they all are good events. This is not putting on your favorite 6,88,20,24,3, etc T-shirt and raising a coozie wrapped brewski and screaming WOOOOHOOO when the cars drive by. This is like the Superbowl in each respective country F1 visits throughout its season (not the US but you get my point). Different cultures and I for one welcome it. Indy needs a shot in the arm.

As far as the mix of fans goes, better than any other race I have attended. Were they rude, no, committed and passionate about their racing, absolutely. I would much rather sit next to a group of “fer-ners” than the inevitable gaggle of mullet-laden, shirtless, sunburned, bar-brawling, cooler-dragging, power-drinking, Copenhagen eating, rednecks that engulf 16th and Georgetown and attempt to turn the 500 and 400 into one big drunken, tittie-flashing, keg-fest.

One success story for the event was that I was able to obtain Mr. Eccelstone’s autograph on my expired 2000 license plate (some of you know what it is). No, I did not have a pass nor did I wait all day either, actually, about 30 minutes. I will be taking a picture and scanning it for posterity, after it gets a good clear-coat

I sat just north and across from vicory circle and turned in my upgrade ticket request this morning.

Peace,

Bob
